It has been an eventful 2015 at Holbro Engineering , there’s been a number of new recruits, charity walks and a new website to bring in 2016.  We have also experienced one of our most successful years, which has allowed us to expand into a new rail division unit next to our main building and recruit more staff.

In August our Production Manager Steve Tilling  took part in a charity walk in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society. He completed the walk in an impressive time of 8 hours and 50 minutes, raising a total of £404.16.

We’d like to welcome our new recruits of 2015 to the Holbro family. Here are just a few of the new staff members that have joined us this year:

Jack Smith
Our first recruit of 2015 was Jack Smith who is currently under the guidance of one of our experienced CNC Turners Darren Graham.

Jack Wild
To help with our new rail division we brought on board Jack Wild, who joins us after completing his apprenticeship at Blackpool and The Fylde college. Jack has joined John Bonney and Isaac Hamilton in our Rail Unit.

Mick Rimmer
Mick originally worked with us from 1994 – 2003, he is back after 12 years taking on the role of Repairs Manager.

Katie Robinson
To support our office administration we have recruited Katie as Office Assistant who has an ongoing apprenticeship via Blackpool and The Fylde College for Business Administration.

Along with our staff expansion our existing staff have also been busy developing their skills and have been awarded a number of certifications. These include Daniel Whelan and Gibson Suriyaboottri who complete the Level 3 Diploma in Engineering. The boys are hoping to carry on their training and complete the BTEC HNC in Engineering.

Another of our successful apprentices is Isaac Hamilton who completed the Level 3 Diploma in Engineering.
Isaac along with two others has now enrolled at college again to continue with his training to gain BTEC HNC in Engineering.

Our Inspector/Assistant Quality Representative Brett Hodgson recently completed a Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering.

To cover our health and safety policy, our Production Manager Steve Tilling has completed a NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Safety.

In November our Office Manager Steph Tilling was involved with the audit for a BSI certificate of registration for Quality Management Systems – ISO 9001:2008. This has been awarded and was effective on the 22nd November 2015.

Along with our new website we now have facebook, linkedin, twitter and youtube pages. Please share, comment and follow us to keep up to date with that’s happening at Holbro Engineering and to get the latest news within the rail and engineering industry.
